Among the Raindrops - Botswana 2011

...I can feel as my waterproof poncho gets slowly wet. The fierce wind pushes giant drops in the almost horizontal direction. I admire the driver that he can still see on the road in this bad weather. The storm hangs directly above us. The thunder sound can be heard immediately after the light flashes. In the open jeep in the middle of the plains I feel like a mobile lightning conductor. Under a burly acacia tree throngs a little group of giraffes. The rain falls silent and changes in solitary raindrops. On my seat I have my private pool. With every bump the water wanes. The sun can finally find its way in the grey skies. It starts shining in the landscape which cries out in tens of green shades. There is a lot of cubs all around, impalas, zebras, buffalos...Life literally throbs around. That is Africa in the rainy season.
